Description: Roll of the Dice was filmed at Shawn's studio apartment in St. Paul. Revelation from evolution might best describe Shawn's process of making art, which is all about discovery along the way. The film takes the viewer through the ebb and flow of smooth inspiration and frustrating hurdles of making art. Arden shifts speed, at times in a jerky fashion while at others hardly noticeable, mimicking Shawn's constant shifts in gears as he draws from his background in street art, formal training, and his own sensibilities and experiences. This piece also gives a close up look at the ways Shawn uses his tools, and the skill with which he creates minute elements of pieces that still manage to retain their 'graffiti' style.
