Description: I edited this episode in a video flipbook style. I was inspired by flipbooks of still images that come alive by the reader thumbing the edge of the book. My video flipbook style is a reversal in that I have removed parts of the moving image to appear jagged and inconsistently staggered. Using rough cuts and montage in this way feels similar to the nature of thumbing a flipbook because it is never perfectly smooth in motion. Some things whiz by while others seem to stand still. This episode highlights the efforts of setting up and how Celeste frames her shot. It also illuminates how she endures minor annoyances in the environment, like getting bit by mosquitoes constantly, to get the photograph she wants.
